Computer Aided Bibliographical Data of Goodeid Fishes (CABDGF) - Version 2017

This database was created and annually updated by Dr. Dietmar KUNATH (†), Berlin, Germany. The following instruction is written by him and slighty modified by Michael KOECK due to some adaptions being necessary for this Website. This database will of course be currently expanded and also corrected if necessary. Assistance in this project of interest is welcome. Please send Emails to: admin(at)goodeidworkinggroup.com.

Terms of condition: The use of this data based world-wide coverage of published literature on the field of Goodeid fishes is mainly provided for the members of the Goodeid Working Group and for all who work in Goodeid conservation. For not defying Copyrights, the use of all parts of the bibliographical database is only permitted for ones personal use without passing them on to third parties. By going ahead using this database, these terms of condition are regarded as accepted.

Goodeid fishes are member of the small family Goodeidae (Jordan, 1923) within the order Cyprinodontiformes, splitted in the subfamilies Goodeinae (Jordan, 1923) -  viviparous Goodeid fishes of the Mexican Plateau - and Empetrichthyinae (Jordan, Evermann & Clark, 1930) - oviparous Goodeid fishes of Nevada in North America. In recent years there has been a significant reduction in the range and size of Goodeid populations. The slight economic importance of Goodeid fishes to fisheries and industry has led to this family being largely ignored by conservation efforts, but their individuality, chiefly their reproduction, has led to a recent increase in the amount of research and of aquaria hobby. Therefore this data bank will help to obtain knowledge of their ichthyological and aquaristic literature.

In this data base there are selected about 2.300 Publications on the field of Goodeid fishes and registered and arranged annually in the Main File:

1.0 Documents

Each document has been assigned a document number (Doc. -No.) built up the year of its publication and an ongoing number within this year. This code of publication is linked to its copy (if available) in form of full or selected original text (pdf-file with comment on the public citation). The citation itself is composed of full names (surname, intitials of first names) of all authors, year of publication, full text of the title and source (journal, series etc.: cited with volume (annual set) issue; serial number: page numbers).

The following Searching Files allow to obtain specified information about Authors, Taxa, Habitats, and Sources of the selected publications:
