Fish medicines

Dear all,I wonder if any of you has negative experiences with fish medicines, I mean, are there any indications that goodeids are extra sensitive to some chemicals? (Poor example, but like: don't add salt to an aquarium with Corydoras... )

Had no problems till now: tried once (decades ago...) to heat my tank with C. lateralis up to 30 °C to kill Oodinium, which resulted in Characodon lying safely on the bottom where it had only 25°C; isn't medicine, but shows how fish try to resist any help:-)

Had Oodinium in Characodon lateralis as well and treated it with the standard malachite green mix from the petshop (brandname Prodac/Sanifish). Watertemperature about 25 degrees, treatment 2 days longer than according the instructions, but instructions sayd to increase the temperature, which I didn't dare to do. Hence a longer cycle of the parasite and a longer treatment. Complete recovery, no problems.

Thank you, Paul!

Need some ideas: I have troubles with Ilyodon whitei for several months. When I got them, they started to become thinner and thinner, but got fry. I separated the fry, they grew up and stayed healthy, parents died. Then I got again some whitei, same breeder. After 2 months, I brought them all together. After some while, they all started to become thinner again. Now all are dead except one female and 2 males. Any idea? ahd the same story with whitei from other location, too but all other fish are well, also furcidens and cortesae..
